ロアーズオリジナルから「HUNGER（ハンガー）」のご紹介です。
HUNGER（ハンガー）はロアーズオリジナルから自費出版で発売する写真集です。
写真家は堀井亜都夜（ホリイアツヤ）さんです。
堀井さんはロアーズオリジナルの写真も多く手掛けています。
「放置バイクを媒体とし身近にある刹那」を撮影して撮り溜めていたHUNGERという名の堀井さんのライフワークがありました。
そのHUNGERにロアーズオリジナルが深く共感をして、この度、写真集を発売させて頂くことになりました。
HUNGERは堀井さんの言葉を借りると「人の所業がつくる風景を記録した写真集」です。
なんのこっちゃ？とお思いの方！HUNGERを見ると納得がいきますので是非！
HUNGERは皆で見るととても盛り上がります。
「俺、昔にこのバイク乗っていたよ！」「家の近所にこんな景色あった！」なんて言って盛り上がる事が出来ます。
その一方でHUNGERを一人で見ていると色々な感情が溢れます。
懐かしさ、儚さ、そして人によっては後悔・・・。
まるで恨めそうにバイクがこちらを見ている様にも見える事さえあります。
そして何度か見ているうちに、写真集に映し出されたバイクの物語を勝手に想像し始めます。
「こんなはずじゃなかっただろ。。。」
なんて写真集のバイクから声が聞こえて来た時、堀井さんのHUNGERは浮かばれます。
ちなみに「HUNGER/ハンガー」とは「飢える」という意味です。
写真のバイク達は何かに飢えているのかも知れません。
なんて素敵な写真集なのでしょう、HUNGER最高です。
そしてHUNGERに写された風景は今後、近所では見れなくなると予想します。
古いバイクは数が減り放置されていたバイクも徐々に少なくなっているでしょう。
そういう意味でも貴重な写真集になるのではと思っています。
本編には写真を撮られた堀井さんのHUNGERへの思いや、
僕（ロアーズオリジナル高橋）が放置バイクの一枚の写真についてコメントも書かせて頂いております。
本の大きさは縦255㎜×横210㎜です。
HUNGERを購入された方にステッカーが付いて来ます。
放置バイクがステッカーなんて他にないでしょう（笑）。
どこに貼るかはともかく、ついつい欲しくなるステッカーです。
ちなみに出版に「ROARS ORIGINAL BOOKS」と書かせて頂いておりますが次なる出版を予定しているあるわけではありません。
折角なので恰好付けて名前を付けさせて頂きました（笑）
またHUNGERのような心躍る作品に出合えたらROARS ORIGINAL BOOKSから自費出版させて頂きたいと思います。

Introducing “HUNGER”
From ROARS ORIGINAL
HUNGER is a self-published photo book released by ROARS ORIGINAL, featuring the work of photographer Atsuya Horii, who has also contributed extensively to the brand’s visual projects.
This collection presents Horii’s long-running personal project, also titled HUNGER―a visual documentation of abandoned motorcycles and the fleeting scenes they inhabit. ROARS ORIGINAL found deep resonance with the themes of this work and decided to support its publication.
As one revisits the images, it becomes difficult not to imagine the forgotten stories behind each machine. This is where the spirit of HUNGER truly comes to life. The title “HUNGER” signifies longing or yearning―perhaps these vehicles, left behind and out of time, are still hungering for something. In this sense, the book becomes more than a photographic record―it is an emotional narrative shaped by decay and memory.
Importantly, the scenes captured in HUNGER are likely to disappear in the years ahead. Older motorcycles are being scrapped or restored, and urban landscapes are rapidly transforming. That makes this collection all the more valuable as a visual archive. The book also includes commentary from both Horii and ROARS ORIGINAL’s Seiji Takahashi, offering personal reflections on selected images and the significance of this project. Size: H255mm × W210mm
Bonus Item: An original sticker featuring one of the abandoned motorcycles―an unusual and fitting memento. Though the book is published under the name ROARS ORIGINAL BOOKS, no future titles are currently planned. The name was chosen simply to mark the occasion in a meaningful way. However, should another equally compelling project arise, a second edition may follow in the same spirit.
